Then remained in the state of his disgraceful alter-ego for over a century.A little girl named Terry has visionary dreams of him as his true self without knowing about the Oz books beforehand. When she comes of age as a young woman she finds and unlocks a hidden portal to the Land of Oz to thus find out the even deeper secrets behind the Wogglebug she initially meets there, and thus obtain the ingredients of a cure to restore him to his true self. At the same time, a wizard who looks like a treasure troll doll has visited Oz in hopes of finding the source behind his homeland's dilemma of being overrun by bad magic for a century. What is this connection to the secrets behind the Wogglebug's past? Also where was the Wogglebug's old schoolteacher known as Professor Nowitall for all those years? These answers and more will be revealed in most startling ways.

After hearing about Cynthia and her take on the story behind the Wogglebug of the popular OZ series, I was curious to read her interpretation of him. Overall I think Cynthia has a great backstory to Wogglebug and has really fleshed out his personality in ways that weren't expressed in the original OZ series. Cynthia's story has great potential and I am excited to see where she takes the rest of her story. There are some things that Cynthia should work on. Overall, the book feels unrefined. The formatting for the chapters looks awkward, and there are no page numbers, which makes it very difficult to read and follow. I also think Cynthia would benefit from hiring an editor to proofread her work. Overall, I still think this is a fantastic story with lots of potential. All it needs is alittle refining.
This was a really pleasant book to page through and I really enjoyed the authors attention to detail in curating such an immersive story. The lore of Oz wasn’t something I was immediately aware of even existed; however, i’m actually very interested to learn more now that i’ve had a taste of it. Definitely looking forward to picking this up to page through every so often :)
I quite enjoyed reading Cynthia Hanson's book, "The Wogglebug's Hidden Truth." It has all the elements I like in a good story...Sympathetic characters, tender moments, some suspense, and strong, female lead characters. I felt as though the book had been well edited, with an organized layout, with maybe just one or two grammatical/word errors here and there in the beginning. Other than that, the editing was fine. I particularly liked the characters of The Wogglebug and his young friend Terry - I admired how strong and independent they both were, and how they were both unafraid to stand up for themselves and prove everyone's misconceptions wrong. I felt as though the characters were quite vivid and believable, and I did indeed find myself thinking about the story and its characters long after I'd finished the book and set it down - one of the main indicators of exceptional writing! I determined the 5-star rating I gave this book due to how much I enjoyed the book, and also, due to how well Cynthia portrayed the Wogglebug in such a way that he stayed in-character throughout the story. I also admire Cynthia's perseverance and loyalty towards the character of the Wogglebug, even though not many people know who he is. I can empathize with being attached to a particular fictional character not everyone knows about, and wanting everyone to be able to see the positive qualities that you see in such a character....this is coming from someone who's favorite Disney character is the titular (but relatively obscure) heroine of a classic Disney cartoon called "Susie the Little Blue Coupe." I have read and reviewed other books by Cynthia Hanson before, and enjoyed them as well. She does a wonderful job of conveying intense emotion in her writing, which I like-not all writers are able to do that with such vividness. If I had a friend or knew someone who was curious about the character of the Wogglebug, I would definitely recommend this book to them as a springboard to getting to know the character better. I would also definitely read the sequel to this book, if there was one - I look forward to read more about the further adventures of Mr. Wogglebug, Terry and the Frogman! :) All in all, Cynthia Hanson's latest book is quite an enjoyable read, and I look forward to reading more from her in the future!
